Visiting Santa for the first time

We took Tristan to Bass Pro Shops this afternoon for him to take a picture with Santa. I havent handed him off to a complete stranger in a while and he was a little hesitant. He started clinging to me as we got closer to Santa. He just sat there in a shocked state for about a minute and then he started crying....wonder what he will do next year!

We also took some pictures around the tree at Destin Commons.
Tristan is getting crazier and is getting more of a personality every day. He makes me laugh. He sometimes is okay left alone playing but usually he wants to be right next to me the whole day, this gets a bit annoying at times. Everytime the dishwasher, fridge, stove, door to bathroom (he is in heaven when he gets his hands in the tiolet, GROSS), or door outside opens he sprints to try to get there before I ruin the fun for him! Thankfully he has an awesome sleep schedule (6 pm-6:30am/ usual naps are 9-10:30 and 12:30-3), so him being glued to me the rest of the time isnt so bad.

He is all boy

again its been a while (sorry)...at his 9 month appt last week he weighed 21lbs 15 oz. (fatty) and was 30.5 inches (tall man)...and he finally got some teeth (his two bottom teeth came in at the same time).

Tristan is getting funnier and funnier as each day passes....he loves being outside. He will usually cry when I bring him in!!!. HEs still not walking, but seems to be getting closer!

Below is a picture from when we were playing outside the other day

Its been a busy last couple of weeks!!!

Ive been seriously slacking in updating everyone on things going on. WE have had a busy past couple of weeks. The weekend of the 17th Casey got married...the wedding was a blast!!! Tristan looked adorable in his tux! I'm a little sad that he probably wont be wearing it again, unless I decide to dress him up for no reason, but hes probably way more comfortable in his sweat pants, so I wont torture the kid. Every time we see family, it makes me a bit sad---b/c I realize how awesome it would be to have more family close by for Tristan. Destin's housing market is way down right not so in case anyone is wondering, now would be a great time to make the move :-).

After recovering for a few days in Destin, I flew up to Charlotte with Tristan. I got our plane ticket on priceline...which got us a great price...but unfortunately we did not get to choose the times of the flights. Our flight left Pensacola at 5:30 am...which meant we left the house at 3:30 and Tristan did not fall asleep in the car like I was hoping he would. He waited until we were 5 minutes from the airport to fall asleep! The security checkpoint in Pensacola is borderline RIDICULOUS...it took us 30 minutes to get through (not because of a line). With the whole you cant travel with liquids exceeding 3 ounces causes them to go through a LONG process of checking Tristan's food for explosives. I have flown through a couple of airports with Tristan and his food and only in Pensacola do they take forever to make sure his food is indeed actually his food and I'm not trying to smuggle in materials to make a bomb once aboard the plane. We almost missed our flight, had to run with Tristan to make it to our gate, which he for some reason thought was really funny...he was laughing the whole time. Then once we got to the gate the oh so nice by the books gate guy informed me that I had too many bags and that I needed to check one of them. I had to explain to him that each person is allowed one carry on, one personal bag, and computer bags do not count...and anything that is needed to travel with an infant also does not count towards your "allowed items aboard plane." Once he finally checked with his "higher ups," he let me on the plane. I was pretty annoyed at this point.

Tristan was an angel on the flight to Atlanta...and then was pretty awesome on the flight to Charlotte as well. As long as Tristan has his Cheetos (the bag says all natural, no preservatives---but its probably a lie) he is one happy little person.

Hopefully the flight home wont be such a pain!!!

Tristan has had a great time in Charlotte being surrounded by his uncles and grandmother (babcia). He is still into everything and is cruising around furniture like its his job. He is still the messiest eater in the world (but some improvements are being seen). He is "talking" alot now, he is non stop babbling something in his own little language. I'm also not sure but it seems as though he is calling me "ma-da." He is also starting to clap, and wants all eyes on him while he does this.

Tristan is ready for Halloween, and I cant wait to see him in his little outfit!!! He is going to be AUBIE!!! I got him a cute little Tiger outfit and he will wear his auburn Jersey over it. I got some face paint as well...but I'm just going to paint his nose and maybe some whiskers. I cant wait until he decides what he wants to be, but until that time comes, I'm going to have fun picking out his costume!

Oh yeah, and Tristan's hair is finally starting to grow! He is a little Blondie! He still has no teeth, and I don't really see any coming in right now. Corey was a little over 7 months when he got his first tooth, I was closer to a year...so it might still be a while!

And its time for more gates

For the past few months we have had the gate at t he top of the stairs but didn't see a need for one at the bottom of the stairs. Today Corey was staying at home with Tristan while I was gone. Tristan has been speed crawling all over the house for a couple of weeks, Corey was looking for him downstairs and to his surprise he found him at the top of the stairs. Now we just need him to learn how to go down the stairs...because he kind of just tumbles right now (we haven't actually let him tumble down the stairs). So its back to the store to acquire yet another gate.

Also, the weather has been surprisingly HOT lately, so we spent some time on Sunday out on the beach...Tristan has gotten way more comfortable out in the water and was crawling all over the place with no fear of anything...below are some pictures from this past weekend

His first party...

On Sunday Tristan got a chance to go to his first party. One of his friends Maya turned one. When we first got there Tristan sat in one spot for about 15 minutes (which is so not like him) and just stared at the other kids. Once he got comfortable he was all over the place and probably the LOUDEST baby there. He thinks he is sooo funny right now, he will constantly just smile and laugh when looking at people. Tristan seems to love being around other kids, so I need to find more ways to get him around other kids, older and younger! He is starting to get interested in certain things, there was a baby version of a power wheel at the party and when Tristan first saw that thing he was eying it for a little while, and then he just went after it. He was so happy when we finally let him sit on it and ride around. He is starting to look more like a little boy rather than a baby!
He also tried cake for the first time...and he loved it, he cried when Corey wouldn't give him anymore!!

He is also getting more brave cruising around furniture and climbing up things, which has lead to some painful to watch falls.

Tristan is going to be the ring bearer in his Aunt Casey's wedding...so the next 2 weeks I am altering his schedule to try to make him as angelic as possible during the 5:15 pm-6 pm time frame...he will be pulled down the aisle in a wagon, and hopefully he will be his usual happy self!

7 months went by so fast

So Tristan is now 7 months old and its went by so quick. He is really into everything now! If there is a cord in sight, he will go to it! If there is even the tiniest piece of anything on the floor, he will find it. He loves to eat paper and tear up magazines. I think the word that i use most in my vocabulary is by far NO. I am constantly saying NO, and moving the little guy from danger or fishing out little pieces of paper out of his mouth.

When we went to Tristan's 6 month appointment at the pediatrician, Tristan weighed 18 lbs and 10 oz. His doctor was surprised as to all that he was doing already and said that she felt sorry for us for having an extremely active child. She said that most parents have at least until 8 or 9 months before they are having to chase their kids around, i didn't have that luxury...but at the same time I don't mind!

Tristan can get across the house at about the same speed that I can, he pulls up onto anything and everything. This morning he tried to use a hamper to standup, didn't work out so well. He feeds Einstein his food, and we have caught Tristan with dog food in his mouth (gross)!

We have spent a good amount of time out in the water and on the beach. Tristan LOVES it. I cant keep him away from the water, he is constantly crawling in the direction of the water if I try to go sit on the beach. Hopefully i can teach him how to swim by the end of next summer!

Oh and Tristan got his first cold (BOOOO) he woke up yesterday with a runny nose...and now i have the same thing...but I think its just a cold, hopefully not the flu!!!!

I will try to update this more often, September was a bad month!

A picture a day for the first 6 months

I meant to post this a month ago...i had it all done before he was 6 months old but it took me forever to get the song that i wanted onto the computer. I took a picture almost everyday, kind of cool to see all of them in order!

Crazy how much Tristan is changing day by day!!

Corey and I were cleaning in the kitchen today, Tristan was playing on the floor. Next thing we know Tristan is basically in the dishwasher...we got a little clip of him "helping clean." It hasnt even been 2 weeks since he really started to crawl and he is already into EVERYTHING.

Trip to Canton

This past weekend Tristan and I made the drive to Canton, GA (Casey lives there) for her wedding shower. The drive took a little longer than normal (around 8 hours), b/c of stopping to keep the little man happy! Tristan is crawling like a pro now, its crazy! Our house now has gates everywhere, I think the best thing about the gates is that I can keep Einstein out of rooms! While we were at Casey's Tristan had a blast playing with her dog Roy, the first time he saw Roy he FREAKED out, but then the next day it was like they had been buds forever! Tristan also pulled himself up into a standing position on his own-we sat him in a box and the next thing he is standing up to play with Casey's dog. He also go to see both of his grandmothers, my mom was able to drive down for the day of Casey's shower and hang out with the little guy. Overall it was a fun trip, but if I can I will be avoiding long trips by myself with him til hes a bit older its just not that much fun to have to stop so much!

Tristan is on the move!!!!

Tristan is officially on the move, and I need to get on the move and babyproof this house. I'm just going to have to buckle down and do a room a day! Tristan has been close to crawling for a couple of weeks now, but he got really started putting it all together yesterday afternoon. He is definantly a boy in that he seems to go towards wires or anything electronic! He will probably be walking before we know it!

Tristan is also talking now, well kind of. He says ma ma ma ma, da da da da, and na na na na.

He has had a busy last couple of weeks! Corey and I went on a little trip to Vegas and Corey's mom (Nana to Tristan) came down and spent some time with Tristan while we left. Seemed like the second we left the house we were ready to come back to the little man. Then Corey's Granny came down for a couple of days! Tristan enjoyed all of the attention and we enjoyed a little time to do some things around Destin. I'm sure he will be begging for them to come down once he can talk!!!

Each month I take Tristan to the baby weigh day here at the local hospital-he was 5.5 months this time and weighed 18.23 lbs.

We are headed to Georgia this weekend for Casey's wedding shower...I'm going without Corey so the drive should be interesting.

Say a Command!

Tonight when we were all eating dinner little monster was "talking away"---I was trying to get him to mimic sounds i made and then for some reason "say a command" came to mind (my phone says this to me when i use voice dial). Tristan had a giggling fit at this saying and we captured some of it on video. Please enjoy Tristan's video and his giggly happy squash eating self.

Tristan is getting close to crawling!!!!

Tristan is now getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth! He is getting frustrated that he cant quite figure out how to move. He has taken a couple of forward movements but cant do it consistently. He will figure it out soon enough. I need to start babyproofing this house!!! I'm not going to go crazy with the babyproofing, but i need to do some things! I want to get a real video camera at some point so that the videos aren't so jumpy and are a little better quality but until i win the lottery (which i rarely play) my little camera will do! Corey and I are going on a mini vacation for 5 days next week, maybe he will be a professional crawler by the time we get back! I cant believe that at the end of August he will be half way to a year, crazy how time flies!

Casey and Bean came down for a visit!!!

Tristan got to spend some time with his Aunt Casey and Uncle Bean over the weekend...

We all had a great time, Tristan was a trooper both on the boat and the beach. He seriously couldn't get any better or sweeter than he is!! I really wish we lived closer to them, or them to us, however you want to look at it!
During the past few weeks I have noticed Tristan eying my food every time I'm eating, and he is at the point now that he cries when he sees me eating and i don't share! So i have found that bagels keep him happy (and keeps me from worrying that he will choke b/c it doesn't crumble and fall apart), graham crackers are quite possibly the messiest food to give to a baby, and he loves french fries. Hes not actually eating these foods, he just sucks and slobbers all over them! Einstein will be in heaven once Tristan starts eating and dropping more foods!
He is getting closer to crawling, he is so determined, but its just not coming together YET. I (actually the house) am not ready for him to be crawling around just yet (need to get motivated and child proof the house). I will post a video of his attempts soon, every time I break out the camera he doesn't cooperate!

His uncle Tomasz has been in town since July 9th, it has been a huge help having him around when I need to go out and run some errands. Its payback for all the times I had to babysit him when I was his age!

Starting a little LATE!!!

Okay, I meant to start this FOREVER ago....but as Corey will tell everyone, I am a HUGE procrastinator!!!
So here it goes, I will be using this as a means to TRY and keep up with most everything that is going on in our family!!! Its mainly going to be about Tristan and then a little about Corey and I!

Some of the things that Tristan has accomplished in the last 5 months are:
He is rolling over in all directions (this started a little before the 3 month mark, and by 3 1/2 months he was a champ!!!
He started sitting up with the support of his hands at 3 1/2 months....and each day he has gotten stronger and stronger to where at 5 months there are times that he sits without the support of his hands.
His first solid (or semi solid) food was given to him at 4 months...our pediatrician gave us the go ahead on this, he was very confused at this the first time...but he is getting much better at eating as each day goes on! His first food was carrots...and call me crazy but at this time I am making his food for him (this may or may not change...we will see).
He started smiling early but it was an accident for him...there was no reason for him to smile...he just did...but at a little before 2 months was the first time that he smiled in reaction to something that we did...
He slept through the night for the first time at 6 weeks (THANK YOU BABYWISE) and we still have our ups and downs but he consistently sleeps through the night...everyonce in a while now he wakes up EARLY at around 5 am...but he usually sleeps from around 8 pm til about 7 am every night (he is awesome I know)
His first laugh in response to something i did was at the end of May...he know GIGGLES all the time at almost anything
He as of this week is scooting backwards....he gets in a crawl position but then moves him self backwards...ill post a video of this soon!

Okay now I will post about things as they happen!!!
